Many medium geese will mate without the benefit of deep water to swim in but watch individuals if the fertility drops change the ponds....most geese prefer shallow pools and ease of getting out of the water...not steep banks. They are suitable for more limited land than their large counterparts and are quiter than many of the light geese with few flying.
