for the Domestic Waterfowl Club

Domestic Ducks & Geese

DWC Championship Show

New Venue - Same Date

After a worrying few weeks when Graham found Beanit Farm could not accommodate us, then other venues booked or too expensive we can now announce our show will go ahead, still in the Midlands, at The Royal Showground, Stoneleigh.  We have booked the Sheep Building which is in the same area that The Poultry Club National is held.

Directions

Enter the showground via the main gate.  Travel up Avenue M but rather than the PC National's 6th Street you turn on to 4th Street (two streets before on the left-hand side).  The Sheet Building is on the left.  Unload outside and park opposite on the hardstanding.

Judging through the bars

Novice/Juvenile Judges - At our last committee meeting a discussion took place on ways in which Junior exhibitors could be encouraged to start judging.  Following a discussion it was agreed that this “notice” should put in the next newsletter -

“Judging through the Bars.  Please would any Juniors wishing to enter this new facet of the show contact the Secretary/Treasurer in writing/by email (hatcher579@btinternet.com) by the end of October 2009.  The suggested format is that you will be given a duplicate judging slip and will be requested to judge each bird through the bars, i.e. without taking the birds out of their cages, prior to the Judge carrying out his/her judging.  Under no circumstances must you discuss your opinions with the judge.”

Should this prove successful we will open it to anyone of any age who wishes to partake.
This will only take place at our Domestic Waterfowl Club Championship Show.
